• Soil-The jamun tree can be grown on a wide range of soils. However, for high yield potential and good plant growth, deep loam and a well drained soil are needed. Such soils also retain sufficient soil moisture which is beneficial for optimum growth and good fruiting.
• Claimate -soil:-Since Jamun is a hardy fruit, it can be grown under adverse soil and climate conditions. It requires dry weather at the time of flowering and fruit setting. Early rains are beneficial for better growth.
• Planting method:-The most common method of propagating this fruit tree is seed. Jamun seeds have no dormancy period, hence fresh seeds can be sown (within 10-15 days) 4-5 cm deep at a distance of 25 cm x 15 cm. The seeds germinate 10-15 days after sowing.
